RISK FACTORS: Presence of foreskin, Oral antibiotics in male infants can predispose to Candida balanitisDRUG(S) OF CHOICE: β’ Fungal - clotrimazole (Lotrimin) 1% bid to affected area or nystatin (Mycostatin) bid to qid to affected area β’ Bacterial - bacitracin qid to affected area or neomycinpolymyxin B-bacitracin (Neosporin) qid to affected area. If infection, cephalosporin or sulfa drug by mouth or injection. β’ Dermatitis - topical steroids qid to affected area β’ Zoon balanitis - topical steroids qid POSSIBLE COMPLICATIONS: β’ Meatal stenosis β’ Premalignant changes from chronic irritations β’ Urinary tract infections
