IT IS AN INGREDIENT OF NUMEROUS VITAMIN PREPARATIONS AND DIETARY SUPPLEMENTS, AND USED FOR A WIDE VARIETY OF DISORDERS. ITS DEFICIENCY SYNDROME HAS NOT BEEN IDENTIFIED IN HUMANS. ITS SOURCES INCLUDE WHOLE GRAIN CEREALS, FRUITS, PLANTS, VEGETABLES AND MEAT, IN WHICH IT OCCURS AS HEXAPHOSPHATE, PHYTIC ACID.
