Dihydralazine Sulphate
White or slightly yellow crystalline powder. Slightly soluble
in water, practically insoluble in alcohol: dissolves in dilute
mineral acids.
Dihydralazine is a vasodilator with actions and uses similar to
those of hydralazine . It is given by mouth as the sul-
phate, but doses are usually expressed in terms of the base. In
hypertension the usual initial dose is 12.5 mg by
mouth twice daily. Up to 200 mg daily has been given; in.
some countries higher doses have been recommended in the
management of heart failure .
Other salts of dihydralazine used in oral preparations include
the hydrochloride and the tartrate. The mesylate is given by
injection.
