Dimethyl Phthalate
A colourless or faintly coloured liquid, odourless or almost
odourless.
Slightly soluble in water: miscible with alcohol, ether, and
most organic solvents.
Adverse Effects and Precautions
Dimethyl phthalate may cause temporary smarting and
should not be applied near the eyes or to mucous membranes.
As with other phthalates contact with plastics should be
avoided.
Uses
Dimethyl phthalate is an insect repellent.
