DIPHTHERIA Crm-197 PROTEIN CONJUGATE:
It is a sterile solution of a conjugate of oligosaccharides
of the capsular antigen of Haemophilus influenzae
type b (Haemophilus b) and diphtheria CRM 197
protein (CRM 197) dissolved in 0.9% sodium chloride.
Indication: Immunization of children against inva-
sive diseases caused by H. influenzae type b.
Dosage: 2-6 Months: Three separate injection of 0.5
ml given at 2 months interval.
Unvaccinated: 7-11 months: 2 Separate injection 2
months apart. 12-14 months: One injection.
Vaccinated: Single booster dose at 15 months of age
or older. 15-71 months: Single injection.
Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to any com-
ponent of the vaccine including diphtheria toxoid,
pregnancy and children below 6 weeks.
Special Precaution: Prevent injection into a blood
vessel.
Side effect: Local erythema, warmth or swelling,
fever, local reactions, rash, urticaria and tenderness.
Drug Interactions: Anticoagulants.
